The P5 potentiometer excels in amplification, adeptly translating an AC 0-100mA current signal into a DC 0-4V voltage, known as CT voltage. The factory default is set at 100mA corresponding to 4V, but it can be finely adjusted on-site for specific needs, such as:
Load Current Selection and Transformer Configuration
1. For a load of 100A: Utilize a 100A/100mA transformer to achieve a precise 4VDC.
2. For an electrical load of 150A: Choose a 200A/100mA transformer to ensure a precise and stable 3VDC. This selection is crucial for maintaining optimal performance and reliability.
In the initial scenario, adjusting the P5 potentiometer is unnecessary. Conversely, in the subsequent scenario, fine-tuning the P5 potentiometer becomes essential. At a current of 150A, the signal output from the current transformer registers at a mere 75mA. Post amplification, the CT voltage stands at only 3VDV, insufficient for the trigger board to efficiently safeguard the system. To rectify this, recalibrate the P5 potentiometer so that at a current signal of 75A, the CT voltage reads 4VDC. Utilize a multimeter to measure the CT voltage on the trigger board; the precise location is indicated in the accompanying figure below on the trigger board.
